Understanding the Bani are more important than just reading and memorizing it like a parrot. Following the words of Bani are important but following it blindly is of no use. Sangat can get together anywhere, even under a tree in the middle of nowhere. You can make your own house a Gurudwara and if you have space for 5 persons to sit and contemplate as a Sangat then Guruji comes there even from 1000 miles away. According to Bani, each house should be a Dharamsaal and in each house who live there, their hearts should be Dharamsaals. Gurudwaras have just become buildings with committiees and “most of them” who are there, are for their own selfish motives (not ALL of them).
